NEW YORK – New York – On Tuesday, April 15th, The Catalog for Giving® of New York City, a not-for-profit organization, held their 3rd Annual Games of Chance Casino Night. The event was held at Studio 450.. The evening included gaming, open bar, hors d’oeuvres galore and fabulous prizes. The extremely popular Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament was held once again, featuring a trip for two to Las Vegas as the grand prize.
The event was co-sponsored by The Catalog’s Young Leadership Council, a group of young, civic-minded professionals from diverse backgrounds who want to give back and help The Catalog in its unique mission. As a result, Casino Night was geared towards a young, professional crowd with affordably priced tickets. This year’s Casino Night was the largest yet, with over 300 guests raising close to $65,000 for after school programs that work with disadvantaged children in New York City.
Since its inception in 1994, The Catalog for Giving of New York City has raised over $10 million and helped more than 75,000 disadvantaged kids. The Catalog’s current member organizations include Added Value & Herban Solutions, CitySquash, Community-Word Project, Figure Skating in Harlem, Free Arts NYC, Global Action Project, iMentor, Leave Out ViolencE (LOVE), Urban Dove and Youth Advocacy Center.
