The Jewish International Connection New York (JICNY) Fifth Annual Passport to the World Gala

On June 16, 2009, approximately 400 Jewish Professionals attended the Jewish International Connection New York Fifth Annual Passport to the World Gala.

The Jewish International Connection New York ("JICNY") Gala took place at the Prince George Ballroom, located at 15 East 27th Street in New York City. For those who had attended JICNY's Galas in the past, many thought this year's Gala was the best ever. Attendees enjoyed delicious food from around the world, entertainment from renowned underground artists, an incredible Beatles band, open bar, decadent desserts and opportunity to mingle with notable VIPs, celebrities, politicians and community leaders.

Event Honorees included Ronn Torossian for the Outstanding Community Service Award, Melanie Gordon for the Dedication to Jewish Life Award, Renatt Brodsky for the Young Leadership Award, and Rina Lazar with the Volunteer of the Year Award.

There were opportunities to take home valuable auction items from a silent auction and of course goodie bags for all who attended.

JICNY is a volunteer driven 501c nonprofit organization headquartered on the Upper West Side of New York. It provides International Jews in their 20's and 30's living in New York, a home away from home by bringing them together in a sophisticated, exciting and supportive community based on our common Jewish Heritage, values and spirituality. Some of JICNY events include Shabbat dinners, lectures and classes, professional networking events, parties, day trips to the beach and whitewater rafting. The JICNY isn't just for Internationals as Americans are welcome as well. To learn more about JICNY check out their website at www.jicny.com.
