New York, NY (June 18, 2008) – The Whitney Museum of American Art hosted its annual Art Party to benefit its Independent Study Program (ISP) and other museum educational programs on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Skylight in New York City.

Max and Lubov Azria of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP partnered with the Whitney for the second consecutive year.

Co-chairs Max and Lubov Azria, Rachel Bilson, Meredith Melling Burke, Joanne Leonhardt Cassullo, E.V. Day, Roopal Patel, the Whitney’s Alice Pratt Brown Director Adam D. Weinberg, Melissa Gellman Weiss, and the Whitney Contemporaries celebrated the museum with a night of cocktails and dancing, with music by DJ Stretch Armstrong, from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.

Bronson van Wyck provided the evening’s décor, inspired by the bandage dress designs from the Fall 2008 Hervé Léger by Max Azria collection shown during New York Fashion Week. Since its relaunch in early 2007, Hervé Léger by Max Azria has been embraced by the media, retailers and celebrities such as Kate Bosworth, Victoria Beckham, and Rihanna.

The evening’s attendees included such notables as Eva Amurri, Sean Avery, Joy Bryant, Jamie Burke, Barbara Bush, Olivia Chantecaille, Doo-Ri Chung, Esteban Cortazar, Philip Crangi, Lou Doillon, Lauren & Richard Dupont, James Franco, Katie Lee Joel, Doutzen Kroes, Sean Lennon, Monique Lhuillier, Eli Manning & Abby McGrew, the MisShapes, Moby, Gretchen Mol, Tinsley Mortimer, Zac Posen, Behati Prinsloo, Coco Rocha, Amy Sacco, Behnaz Sarafpour, Hunt Slonem, Taryn Simon, Peter Som, Hana Soukupova, Michelle Trachtenberg, Ivanka Trump, Elettra Weidemann, and Rachel Zoe.
