Calypso is the perfect store for the well rounded modern woman, specifically the Manhattanite. Besides the fact that it holds a little bit for everyone and the perfect touch for any occasion - even last minute gift giving or a final touch before an at home soiree - Calypso boasts a collection of colors and styles for every unique and exotic to all American skin type and body style. The styles are sophisticated without being stuffier than the head mistress at Mrs. Porters. Personally, my favorite pick in the store right now is the Julia Silk Dress. Worn classically the JSD is a perfect seasonal piece for the work day with a cardigan or cami but its multi-wrap stylings allow it to be a natural choice for the work-women to super event savvy girl on the run. It transforms from a classic cut to something just a little more flirty, feminine and just a tad bit fierce - when properly accessorized that is.
Calypso Christiane Celle. Intrigue, class and a je n'ai sais quois is in the name - but the real secret is how its said. It's in the inflection. Accessories are the inflection to an outfit. Lets face it, if your reading this you are a mistress of events and couture and do your best not to show up in pictures in the same ensemble more than once so you own more dresses than you know what to do with - and last seasons dresses were so in but not so flattering. I'd bet my favorite Choo's that you have one too many dresses that you think don't show off your shape or sorta look like a really high quality Gucci potato sack. Well, that's where the Obe Belt comes in. It cinches with a style that is subtle and alluring but not so trendy it's already five minutes ago.
Calypso has some great things to browse through, amazing home accents, and a little something for everyone. But to the event savvy chica who prefers to split her shopping habits with her philanthropic interests these are the two must haves from this fabulous boutique.
