Autism Speaks to Young Professionals

On Thursday, January 7th, Autism Speaks’ Young Professionals group hosted the 2nd in their Autism Speaks to Young Professionals (AS2YP) event series at trendy new club SL in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.

Over 200 guests attended to raise awareness and funds for a disorder now affecting 1 in every 110 American children, and 1 in every 70 boys.

The event raised over $30,000 toward Autism Speaks’ initiatives, helping to fund research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism. The event was co-chaired by Amanda Niederauer and Danny Ryan, and sponsored by Manhattan Beer Distributors, Montecastelli Selections, RBS and Alacrity Financial. Guests enjoyed beats by DJs Caleb Loftus and Nick Russo, and sampled a delicious array of appetizers by renowned Abe & Arthur’s Executive Chef Franklin Becker. The event was a successful follow-up to AS2YP’s sold out summer event at the New York Stock Exchange this past August.
